About the Kennedys

Mac has been working with Law Enforcement for 15 years, first as a Private Investigator and then as an Officer with the Department of Corrections. Since promoting to Institutional  Investigator at Coffeewood Correctional Center, Sgt. Kennedy has monitored inmate criminal and gang-related activities that affect the safety and security of our prisons and extend into our communities.  He has a brother who is a State Trooper, another brother who is the Investigator with a Sherriff’s Department and his mother is a Police Dispatcher.

He grew up in a large family on a small farm in Virginia, attending church nearly every Sunday, but on October 15, 1978 his life was changed forever when he was overtaken by God’s pursuing love and surrendered his life to Jesus. During his 5 year attendance at Calvary Chapel of Charlottesville he worked with the “Eternity Matters” radio program and participated in the Street Witnessing Ministry.

Stephanie recently resigned after 5 years of service to the Department of Corrections as Human Resource Analyst and is now committed to ministry and family.

She grew up in Phoenix, AZ and in 1984 she relocated with former husband and four children to California where she rededicated her life to the Lord at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside. The family relocated again to Virginia in 1997 where they attended Calvary Chapel of Fredericksburg. She has worked with Youth Ministry, Calvary Chapel Magazine, Calvary Bookstore and now runs the Administrative Office of Calvary Chapel of Greene and is Administrative Director of Precincts in Prayer.

In January of 2004 her husband of 24 years suffered a massive heart attack and died while on duty at Coffeewood Correctional Center. Although tragic, God always triumphs over tragedy and this opened a door to witness and share her faith and minister to the Officers and Staff at Coffeewood.

In October 2002 Mac & Stephanie had met on a trip to New York to visit the precincts and had been acquaintances, but after her husband’s death the trips to New York had ceased. In December 2004 they started back up through the support of Pastor Jack Richard’s of Calvary Chapel of Greene. Mac & Stephanie started working more closely putting the trips together and by the June 2005 trip they both knew that God had brought them together not only as ministry partners but as partners in life. On October 15, 2005 they were married and were honored by Pastor Jack marrying them.

They live in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains in a quaint home with her three sons living close by and her daughter in Florida, and are very blessed with 4 grand children. All are thriving very well and God has showered His blessings on this family  as they continue to live for Him. God continues to place them right where He wants them to be.

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”- Mark 16:15
